His spokesman said that he is not “currently carrying out government work” and is “focusing on his recovery.”

He will not receive a red box with official papers, and has not had any telephone calls with the Queen, though he is believed to be in daily phone contact with doctors from St Thomas’ hospital, where he was treated.

Carol Thatcher once described Chequers as like a “boutique hotel, albeit with top-level security” and the “perfect weekend retreat” while David Cameron told the former French president Francois Hollande that it was “a good place for thinking – away from London”.

Again:

Who this guidance is for
This guidance is for people planning to visit second homes or holiday premises during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Essential travel does not include visits to second homes, camp sites, caravan parks or similar, whether for isolation purposes or holidays. People must remain in their primary residence. Not taking these steps puts additional pressure on communities and services that are already at risk.

There's no shortage of things to justly criticise Boris Johnson for, so I think stretching them to try to prove Chequers is not a place of work as well as residence is unnecessary point scoring to say the least.

None of us would enjoy our homes being infested with staff, civil servants and security men. If you think he drove there by himself, think again. We've all seen the convoys as they arrive there, government cars and security range rovers.

Reading some of the online Newspapers that cover the south of England it looks like some coastal resorts are shutting down their sea fronts completely to everyone, joggers, walkers, cyclists, cars the lot.
That's in response to people failing to respect the distancing rules, so as usual the few screw it up for the rest of us.

It's just been revealed on the news that although we were told Boris Johnson was still recuperating at Chequers, he was in fact working in preparation for his return to Downing Street on Monday. That included a three hour cabinet meeting with the leading ministers.

So far from being resting and recuperating as we would know it.

Just pointing out the hypocrisy and double standards.

'It's true, I seen it on the telly'
That is the scary bit, that people just take in what was in 'The News'. 77 Brigade are doing their best to make sure we only get our information from 'reliable sources'. BBC?

In this case I didn't agree there was. The Downing Street office is no place for recovery, and there was no question that Johnson had been genuinely ill. His changed appearance showed that only too clearly.

I've been the first to harshly criticise him in here and will no doubt be in future for the sad apology of a human being that he is.

But there are times when fair play comes first.

Seems a bit of an odd way to define something. How about if you walk round and round in circles, you could cover many miles and actually travel nowhere.
I'm here in wales and I never go further than a 2 mile radius from the house. With our maze of small back roads and tracks I can easily fit in 12- 15 miles [or an hours exercise] without ever going 'further' than 2 miles. Simples!

stay in stay say safe or it will take your life :p
Ah, I get your drift now! (And you cannot beat a bit of culture from the USA!) To be fair to the USA, I have followed the Dancing Rabbit village for some years, so I know there ARE sensible people out there.
