New LCD s866 fitted no walk assist?

Hi all, my son has an estarli bike which developed problems a while back so i decided to dive and and try to fix it. I have had a difficult few days /weeks/months as this has dragged on but this forum has been an excellent resource and very helpful getting to the point I am at. I'm nearly up and running, I have a new PAS sensor in ordered which should be arriving soon and then we will (finally) have a functioning ebike... I hope

One thing I've not managed to bottom out however is that I've never been able to get the walk assist to work on the bike. I've checked numerous times in the settings and it should be active. But when I press and hold the down arrow it doesn't register and won't activate the walk assist, which would have been a very useful feature to help with my fault finding.

Has anyone else had this issue or know how to resolve it?

Check the handlebar display/interface for any identifying numbers or ID for a google search including the words "manual PDF"
often there will be both a 1-2page intro doc AND a more detailed multi page doc available, using 'pdf' in the search should list page counts for relevant links..

If no luck post pics of the controller and its interface to identify for a manual link.

Has the walk assist worked at all since then?
Has the motor worked since then?

With my controller, which also uses the S866, there is a P setting for PAS/Throttle/Both. IIRC you have to be in Throttle or Both for the walk assist to work. I can't check it right now, as I'm away for a few days.

Ok. I remembered that I'd made some notes on my phone while sorting this stuff out. P17 controls the walk assist feature, but the Throttle/Both settings in is P10 on my S866 LCD with a Brainpower controller.

hi guys sorry for the delay, and i appreciate you're replies. i managed to get the bike going in the end, but never got the walk assist working. i had checked and verified the settings are correct as you've mentioned but just not seeming to work for me... who knows, don't really use that function but it would have been handy to have it working 100%

Did you activate the throttle in the settings, like he said above?
