Only yesterday a lady who has had Gtech for a week came to see me, she is sending it back as she is not happy with it.
She had a test ride on an EMU and an eZee, both of which she preferred and is currently deciding which to go for.

I can see how the Gtech would appeal to the fashion conscious, but for me it is a case of form over function, but one man's meat is another man's poison.

I was just going to post that the Sprint Primo comes with everything you could need, for £795, when I found your post. I keep seeing the GTech adverts on TV. They must be spending a fortune, but it does not alter the fact that you don't get much for your money. As Ben Elton said, 'All style and no content'. As an aside, can you make your Primo picture get bigger when it's clicked on?

I've got a G-tech sport on the way, would have liked to try one out first but unfortunately they have no dealers (but a 14 day return if not happy).

I wanted a light low assist bike without a chain so it seems to fit my needs perfectly. My Carrera Vengeance (none assist) weighs 14.9kg, the Gtech 16kg.

Plus they look well thought out (we will see!).

Lots of different people require lots of different things out off a bike, I don't begrudge paying £995 if it suits my needs well.

KM's review will be welcome on the forum as so far scant info has been posted, we know it is legal 15.5mph. Peeps will be interested in actual real world mileage and the bikes ability to climb steep hills rather then just gentle inclines, also other factures such as riders general fitness and weight will add to the review.

I can probably answer some of the questions. This bike is somewhere between a normal bike and the Woosh Karoo. Its weight is pleasantly light. I like very much riding the Gtech without power. Totally silent.
It's economical on battery because it's only a low assist, so don't fret about the range. You can easily get 20-25 miles out of a single charge.
Climbing steep hills: it happily climbs 5%-6% gradient. Steeper than that is possible but will require substantial rider's input. It would suit riders between 5ft5 and 6ft, under 15st.

The Carrera does look a very good bike, it has twice the battery capacity of the G-tech, gears, disk brakes and front suspension.

It all depends what your use for the bike is really, the G-tech to me just looks like it will work with no fuss. It'll all be down to the fixed gearing for me (good or bad). I asked if there may be an alternative rear pulley (1 tooth smaller) but they haven't got back yet.

I'm 39, 5'10" 78kg, (12 stone?), reasonably fit and do a 6 mile round trip to work every day. Don't mind slogging up hills.

Traffic is a nightmare in York so a light responsive bike is a must for me, plenty of stop/start action.

Just waiting for it to turn up!, I've bought a speedo/ trip meter for it to keep an eye on mileage vs battery but Trex already stated what I'd expect (25 miles ish hopefully).

Don't know how much a battery is for this bike, but it must be fairly light given its size. So it would probably be quite feasible to carry a spare to give greater range

Just had a message from the courier and arranged delivery for next Friday.

Spare batteries are £299 but for my range one should be fine, can always buy one later ( they seem to have free delivery on everything).

it's something I have been taught many years ago. One of the first things you learn is the principle of uncertainty. That principle implies that individual photons can travel faster than light at short distance. wiki that up then move on to reality and entanglement.
In the LHC, two beams are accelerated at near speed of light in opposite directions before they collide. Their closing speed is near 2c.

I think your being slightly disengenous, when a comment that FTL is possible and so is time travel. In a statement with no qualification it's sounds as if one is implying it's common knowledge and we are close to creating a method of travel in both space and time.
When if fact to refer to some thing ultimately mass less ( thus does not compromise TToR. Which ultimately means that anything of mass is not capable (as presently understood) and thus 'FTL speed for all 'practical' purposes has not been found. It's semantics.
Oh and time travel?

Anyway a Bike question, as your are obviously a clever chap ( not sarcasm) and this will make me seem like an idiot.
I like the simplicity of the gtech, it's light (not FTL waaah) looks like a bike and clean looking but would a Haibike RRP £1800 'hard 7' be over the top for the occasional used its going to get. Be to heavy? Complicated to service.
I realise it's not a great at comparison due to the value, but is it twice the bike. Is the motor at the crank an issue. Does it feel normal under pedal power only?
If a Haibike 7 is it worth paying more for the 9? Over one with rear suspension.
I feel more stupid asking this, than disagreeing over FTL travel!
And sorry if I've not only high jakes a thread but did it mid replies.

I think there are many ebikes that provide better value and performance for £1000 than the G-tech.

Haibike, chalk and cheese, if it's for occasional use it is probably over the top.

You will be rewarded if you do get one. To then spend the money on a full suspension ebike when you were looking at £1000 is a big step up.

I have a sDuro Hardnine that is lovely. It goes anywhere with me on the back and is capable on tarmac, fire trails or fields.

Well I bought the crossfire-e!
None showing in stock on the halfords website, so I popped into the local Basingstoke store after work. They has a 19" on display, too small for me but I liked the look of it & the child serving helpfully phoned the Farnborough branch, who confirmed they had a 21" on display! I was advised it was pdi'ed and ready to go & if I asked they should offer £100 off being the display model. I thanked the child & headed up the m3 in rushhour traffic & torrential rain.
Once in Farnborough I spoke to anther child & agreed to buy the bike, they wouldn't budge on price though, no worries. I was asked to come back in 20 mins so they could check it over. On return they tried to sell me additional warranty/spares etc but I declined. As I was about to pay they suddenly realised they had lost the charger & didnt have another on site!
They could order a charger, or they could order the complete bike. There are a handful available despite the website showing none. I declined & left, my opinion of halfords confirmed once again
So I bought an unused one of ebay for £750.

Anyway the carerra crossfire-e. I wont say much as this is a gtech thread & someone has done a very good review already. BUT its brilliant! My 1st electric bike and with a damaged knee its just so easy. I must admit the gears & hydro disk brakes are very good which is a big plus over the gtech. The fork feels quite poor, but I normally ride high end mountain bikes which have forks that cost more than this entire bike!
My usage is a 6 mile round trip with about 5 hills.
I'm taking it round my dads tomorrow so he can have a go, as he wants an ebike also now he is in his 70's.

I bumped into a friend whist riding on the canal (not literally I hasten to add) He was a proper biker in his early life having regularly ridden 150 miles in a day so knows a thing or two about bicycles in general...
He was impressed with my Scott e-genius 920 as I extolled its virtues, and even the £3400 price tag didn't shock him over much... but then he asked me how it compared to the ... you know what.........
