There are still some bikes available. I actually come across some used once in a while.
Yes the lead acids are very heavy but I think the bike actually rode decent for its weight as I rode it for over 10 years to work everyday!
I didn't do any off roading with it. I think it was made more for pavement, even though it was designed along the lines of a hybrid.
I will be putting some Li-po in mine soon. That should bring the weight down by 12 pounds and give me a little more range.
