Got my new controller for my ebike but the connectors on the ebike are backwards to the controller so female instead of male and visa versa.

Any easy fix to this or have I hot to splice cables together

Cut them off and solder/shrink cover the wires together, temporary to check everything works first use simple screw type strip connectors . Once workin gis confirmed then use solder.

Perfect cheers, all working except the breaks and pas cable which I will sort tomorrow.

I'm using the gd01 lcd and there is a setting called power gear and I have no idea what this does or what setting to pick

Check that the PAS doesn't work backwards. Sometimes, when you change controllers, it'll work backwards, so you have to flip the magnet disc.

One expects the term'powered gear' is for walk assist or throttle mode !

Show us a link to the display.

When they talk about gears, they normally mean the pedal assist levels, but there's no way of telling whether they know what they're talking about.

I think your right there it changes the pedal assit level from 3 levels to 5 levels.

Right go's my pas wires up and it seems to work but speed goes straight to over 100 so I clearly need to do something to calibrate that and my break cables done match one side has 1 red and 1 black the other has 1 yellow 1 black.

Any ideas

black is the common and the red/yellow wires are the signal the difference is for you to tell left from right brake wires at a glance without having to trace back.. not a problem :)
