after a prompt from dave.heres my bike i built at xmas .
bike is pinnacle lithium 3.using d8veh old bafang cst motor and 2 hobbyking 8000mah 6 cell zippy lipos.ecrazyman 6 fet controler.
i was after more power than my 8fun front wheel kit.big long hill coming home.
so i bought the motor from dave, and rebuilt it into 700c rim.
the battery box is folded aluminium sheet, pop riveted together.i made it as small as possible.
the controler is screwed to the box with a strip of 5mm ally, between box and controler. into the heat sink,so the box acts as a heat sink.
set at 18amp the bike did apx 18mph on the flat.16 uphill, and a range of 22miles.
up the amps to 22 and speed went up to 22mph.
the cst motor has a sticker on saying 36v 250w.dont think it is 250w though.
i was pretty sure the guts of the motor were the same as a 500w bpm,so curiousty got the better of me and i clicked pay now and ordered one from bms and some other bits.
a silver 36v 500w bpm2 arrived and i striped both motors down.
putting the 500w parts in the 250w cst.
**** they are totaly different inside and wont fit.******.
so painted motor black, and built bpm into a 700c rim and fitted to bike,
well totally blown away, pulls like a train 26mph and comes up steep hils at 20mph.
i have a gng crank drive on a mountain bike, its a bit rough and ready though, bangs and clunks changing gear ,chain jumps on bottom cogs breaks chains and uses lots of amps with poor range.
so going to put cst back in 26" rim[getting good at building wheels]and try it at 22v to keep the speed down.
