Well guys, after a lot of reading and research I have taken the plunge this weekend and bought 2 electric bikes. Got a Juicy bike folder for my wife on Friday (already posted on that one), and bought myself a Freego Eagle with the large battery on monday. Actually ended up spending more than intended, but its not making money in the bank . My intention is to use it for work through summer, about 5 miles each way and for getting out on some of the trails near here with my wife. Had a couple of rides already and am very pleased with it so far. My wife loves hers. I now have 2 chargers. Are they compatible, or do I have to use the one that came with the bikes.

Again very happy with the shop where I bought the bike. A new shop in Brampton Chesterfield called Pelican Cycles. Well worth a visit if in the area

Pleased to hear about your bikes

I used to go to a motorbike meeting in the Brampton Ale House on the Brampton mile!

Enjoy the bikes

Great choice. I'm sure you'll have lots of fun in it.

Money in the bank is handy, but the real wealth is the fun you've had!

I think I would use the correct charger for each battery. It may be that it's charging cut off level is suited to a particular battery management system and as such an overcharge could occur. Mind you, I'm pretty hopeless with electrics and fully expect Flecc to put me right on this in short order!!!

Happy riding.

Hi,
thanks for the kind words guys. Am certainly looking forward to getting some nice rides in. Eaglerider it is in some part due to your very positive posts about the eagle which swayed me towards it and am sure it will live up to expectations. As regards the chargers, I will stick to the ones supplied as one is for larger battery.

Gulp!! I feel all responsible now, but hopefully you should be fine. Mine will be approaching 1000 miles soon. At least if you have a problem Freego will fix it, although, fortunately, I've not had to test the back up myself to date.

It has proved very versatile, and makes an excellent shield and weapon if you happen to be attacked by a vicious dog! I had to test this aspect a few weeks back and the canine variety don't seem to like having a 25Kg Eagle on top of them!!!
Best regards

Perhaps I should invoice Freego for a bit of commission!!! :p
If you are ever down East Sussex way, we could ride to the pub for shandy!
