I've cut and pasted this from the listing. Does couninuous mean maximum maybe?:
"2. Couninuous discharge current: 20A"

the cells are NCR2900mAH so it should be able to do 2C, 20A continuous rating, same as maximum rating.
But on the datasheet, they wrote:
  • Undervoltage: 28V
  • Overvoltage: 42V
  • Maximum discharge current: 20A
  • Maximum Charge Current: 5A
  • Height: 325mm
  • Dimension: 325mm X 90mm
  • Diameter: 90mm
  • Continuous discharge current: 10A
  • Chemical: Li-ion
  • Capacity: 10.4Ah

I also note Capacity: 10.4Ah when your looking at the 14.5Ah pack

The controller is perhaps 20A but can't loose enough heat for longer runs. The packaging doesn't look like it would allow it. Though I am guessing at the size of the enclosure it and all of the connectors occupy.

I can't keep guessing. The cheaper celled 48v 20A unit is £300 I don't have to waste.

edit: Oh... your perhaps looking at the 11.6Ah 48v pack, not the 14.5Ah 36v pack. I looked at the 28v-42v range and presumed 36v, but now I see the 48v pack is also 28-42.

Edit2: I can't even see a 10.4Ah 36V pack that they could of copied over to every advert. It's all nonsense. I'm getting quite bothered by it all.

You can never rely on Chinese listings. they cut and paste stuff without knowing what it means. Those batteries that say 20A continuous can do it.

D8veh, Do you think this 48v 11.6 ah battery with 20 amp is ok with an 25 amp max infeion controller in a mac 12 setup?

Hmmmm!. Not easy to say. My gut feel is that a 25A controller is pushing it for a 4P 18650 battery pack. Do you need 25A with a MAC at 48V. If it's a 36v MAC that you're overvolting to get more speed, I'd more in favour of no. Did you think about getting the battery with the included 20A sine-wave controller? That would give a nice setup for PAS, which the Infineon can't match. The only think is I think I heard that there's no connector for an external speed sensor, though I haven't checked one myself. Without the speed sensor, you won't get a speed display when free-wheeling.

I have sold the kit.But the guy asked me what battery to buy.It is a mac 12 kit
200rpm at 36volt.The controller is 36/48 25 amp but can be programmed. He wanted 48 volt,I gave him two options.
Both from bms battery.
1. the hicg rate C shrink 48v 15 ah battery
2. The 48volt 11.6 frame battery 20 a continious.
I was thinking about the battery with sinewave controller but then he would ha ve the hall sensor combination problem.Or is this cintroller automatically adjusting the hall sensors correct like the infenion controllers?

Hi ,

The battery is 20A(20A continuous ) , not 10A , the decrebtion is incorrect.

Seems fair enough.

Where does the controller actually live? In the bracket or the pack using a multiplug?

You can see the construction here. The controller is housed in the bit that stays on the bike.at the bottom where it's aluminium to act as a heat sync.

The number of FETs in the controller isn't too important. The Lyen Mini Monster can do 25A with 6 FETs. You just need decent FETs

d8veh, you forgot to post the link to the photos of the controller.

that's very neat in comparison to the messy version in the round bottle battery.
Somebody ought to test this controller and report.

I'm still undecided. It says you need a motor with internal speed sensor. BMSB tell me in mail that the Q series and bafangs have this, but I know my bafangs don't and no Q series says as such.

I also asked the weight. It is about the same as the others apparently. I have no idea what the others weigh though.

I really should give up asking them anything.

I will bet a pound to a pinch that D8veh knows more about their stock than they do.
