Hi All

Hopefully somebody could offer some advice

Just bought a Bafang 500 W 48V Rear hub kit with 500c Display and YCSV126-005-48T Controller. Currently after build getting a Code 08H Hall Sensor error error with no motor movement. After a lot of googling it would appear to be a Hall Sensor fault in the hub motor however carried a fair bit of trouble shooting including

Disconnecting PAS (Due Hall sensor in unit), Connecting Throttle - No movement/Error 08H
Tried using walking mode from display - No movement/Error 08H
Disconnecting all other plugs except motor line and display controller - Error 08H
Disconnecting Motor line leaving just 4 wire splitter lead from Controller and connected to display, still error 08H

I have considered opening up the motor however don't want to go to far as its a new unit and would prefer at this stage to try an isolate faulty component for replacement

The question is if you disconnect the Motor line should this remove the error code due not seeing the Hall Sensor in the hub? (Proving hub motor fault). If fault still present this would leave the Controller as the likely culprit?

Thanks in anticipation for any help

Speak to the vendor as it is warranted.
What type of motro wire connector is used at the controller ?

The Controller -> Hub Motor connector is a Julet

Thanks for PMs and reply's so far. Currently working away but will have another look in a couple of days at suggestions.

Cheers

Hi, Finally got round to looking at E-Bike build again, somewhat delayed as caught COVID and its been a bit of a recovery.

After the advice decided to start from scratch again so disconnected everything and re-checked all plugs again. (Which thought I had done a dozen times or so !). Rather than connect all up just started with the basic wiring, Motor, Battery and Display with loose wires and seemed to do the trick. Not sure which connection out of the Motor hub or Motor Controller plug was giving the problem but error code disappeared. After quick test using walk mode the motor kicked into life. Then proceeded with rest of wiring for PAS etc and all was good tie wrapping as went.

My suspicion is the connector causing the problem was probably the Julet plug from hub Motor connection to Controller as this was very tight. Got a few extra mm by pushing really hard even though it looked fully home.

If can offer any advice would say in hindsight connect up a minimal setup of wires with out tye-wrapping etc and just get the motor working before proceeding with rest of wiring as its quite long winded trying to stow all the extra wires and maker it look tidy. This makes it somewhat annoying having to cut everything again trouble shooting any problems

Also the instructions are quite sparse so the axle nut/washers etc need quite a bit thought in positioning to get the correct clearances for the disc brake/pads.

Will treat this as Solved. Thanks for the advice (Can't see a method for amending the title as solved).
