New 48v Bottle Mount 10.4ah Battery

I've seen alot of these on e-bay, etc and would like to combine this with a 1000w rear hub kit to give me 25-27mph top speed BUT the seller suggests the limit for these cells is 800w. Why is this and does it make any difference that my commute is perfectly flat with no stop/starts? what might happen if I tried to use this battery with a larger motor?

Standard discharge 10±0.5A
Maximum continuous discharge current 25±0.5A
Discharge cut-off voltage ≥ 42V

The cells can only give so much current. Those ones are rated at 10A continuous, so only suitable for a 250w bike with maybe a 15A controller.

For a 1000w motor, you need a battery that can give at least 25A continuous. Always look at the specification for the continuous rating.

Ah, ok. You can also get the same configuration (same bottle mounted case) with this spec: (I guess this is what I really need)

18650 cells 2900mAH , 52 cells with bms

• discharge cut-off voltage : 2.5v for one cell

• operating temperature discharge : -20°c to 60 °c

• 48v 11.6ah discharging current continous : 35amp

• 48v 11.6ah max discharging current : 50amp

if they are the mateen batteries on ebay they work quite happily with a 500 watt motor , mine have been in use now for 6 months without a problem
