Wow, I love the look and potential of this thing

Brightonebikes , you ordered a tester ?

Go on, you know you want to

This might just be the perfect conversion for my unpowered Ti road bike

Also for mud pluggers and off roaders worried about clearance when using bbsxx and their clones

24v though

Unusual but if it provides the riding experience it allows for a roughy 50% reduction in battery size/weight for a given aH and cell type

The word 'potential' is good and I think apt. here.

It states 'high torque' but provides no stats... Odd? Surely they'd shout about the amount they've managed to squeeze out of such a small, low powered unit if it was exciting amounts?

I shan't be ordering one, no. However, if YOU do Kirstin, please feel free to come over to the workshop if you would like another pair of hands, because I'd love a little tinker with one ;)

If that pack does contain battery power, it can only be 4Ah or something, Shirley?

Regarding the ground clearance point, a well considered build with a BBSxx poses no greater threat than chainring clearance really, plus so much tidier and cleaner/easier to clean for the mud pluggers. That thing will get it caked in every nook and cranny!

On the Ti bike tip, I was surprised and extremely pleased to pick up an(other) almost mint condition Lynskeys Ti One-on 456 the other day for a steal of a price. Hope components pretty much all round on it too. - I feel another conversion coming on! :)

Back to you Kirstin, you know YOU want to...

That looks like a R/C-type motor. They can give immense power. That's why the R/C guys have to use lipos. The only problem is the high-pitched wine.

Maybe it is an awesome little kit then? They do state that assist levels 1 and 2 are barely audible, 3 to 5 can be heard but are minimal.

Well that didn't last long

I've emailed them to see if they will sell a kit without battery as this ought to reduce price quite a bit (in my mind anyway)

Let's see what they come back with

Well, quick answer and easy decision

588 USD.......without a battery

um......nope
Jeepers! That doesn't account for any import duty either. Even if undervalued and marked gift, it's going to increase the price.
I'm keeping an eye out for video / impartial reviews before even thinking of checking one out.
So please post here if anybody sees one. Tar.

I spent whole day looking on this beauty, However. In my area, 300W is nothing. My everyday ride is approx. 24 km back and forth, 680 m down and... same up, with lot of hills. 9P13S x2200 mah, BBS02 on Merida Big 7 hatdtail. Lot of weight! Battery can hold 120 km on flat, but I use 500-600 W of battery just to get home uphill. I looking to bring the weight down and even thinking about Tangent Ascend. Well, even if I can bring down my - now - 4.2 kg motor + 5 kg battery to say 6 in total, I am happiest man. So, I started to think about buying this kit and hotrodding to bigger power motor with dedicated ESC. After thinking a bit... About $500 for 1.5 kg versus buying Tangent Ascend barebones for $800 re 3,17kg..... Adding $$ motor/esc... Ok, after some thinking, I will stay with bbs02. Maybe will make another battery from LG HG2 cells and save 700-750 gramm for same power I have. Unless GNG sell barebones with the option to put more powerful motor for $300 - 350, it doesn't worth for me.
