Hi everyone.

I'm doing some academic research on electric bikes. Seeing how this forum's users know more about ebikes and pedelecs than the average cyclist, I thought you might be willing to share some of your valuable experiences in using them.

It is not a survey per se, but a pseudo-depth interview. So short and open-ended responses are what I hope to get.

This is the link: CLOSED

I greatly appreciate your responses and your time.

EDIT:
I feel kinda rude that I did not introduce myself. My apologies! I'm an Industrial Design Engineering student in the Netherlands at the Delft University of Technology. The online interview is part of my MSc thesis work related to electric bicycles, which also includes conversion kits.

EDIT 2:
This forum is awesome! Thanks for the quick responses. Didn't expect to get so many, so fast. The number of responses I got are more than enough, so will close the interview now. Much appreciated...

I know I'm only an old fuddy-duddy brought up in a world of dictionaries and grammar, but 'pseudo'?

Even my on-line dictionary, not usually so dogmatic, gives this for its thesaurus of similar words:

pseudo
adjective
her 'diamonds' are so pseudo bogus, sham, phony, artificial, mock, ersatz, quasi-, fake, false, spurious, deceptive, misleading, assumed, contrived, affected, insincere; informal pretend, put-on. antonym genuine.

Nothing personal; just old age.

Perhaps he's just being super-honest about his disguised purpose Allen. :)

Some of us (possibly not the question poser) are old enough to remember "Transgressing the Boundaries: Towards a Transformative Hermaneutics of Quantum Gravity", by Alan Sokel.

Thus, even though 'pseudo-depth' seems to be a valid post-modern psycho-babble term (Google it), the emperor is, nonetheless, *******-naked.

Hahhah! Hey Allen. The word 'pseudo' does mean 'fake' in this case. Its used in my case to refer to the depth of the interview, so its like a fake-depth interview (sort of scratching the surface). Pseudo-depth interviews are used to get quicker responses than normal face-to-face interviews, and to gather points for discussion during in-depth interviews. Hope that helps a bit :)

NOW I see! All is clear.

So the opposite of an in-depth interview is a pseudo-depth interview. Good.

And the opposite of an electric bike? A ferret, maybe?

Is this the right time to mention that I understood what he meant, maybe thinking of it as a substitute for an interview makes more sense.

all done - should have given the chance to enter conversion at the same stage as 'do you own an ebike'
