In many ways this is the good and the bad about the modern world and the Internet. We can now get anything at the click of a button but at a £1 each for a small nut or a bolt and waiting a week (thinking more of my motorcycle here ). In the old days you just went down the high street and Fred would ferret in a box and find one on the spot.

I have a friend who lives in thailand and is part of an expat biking group, some of whome ride older bikes, and he assures me that Fred, or at least his Thai cousins, are alive and well and are still able to perform those minor miracles.

Looking for stock washers like these ideally, that may be too thick https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Electric-bike-Axle-12mm-14mm-16mm-lock-nut-lock-washer-spacer-torque-arm-/271901735010?_mwBanner=1

The problem is my bike didn't have quite enough to start with, the frame flexes more than I'd like when tightening the wheel down, being aluminium this could eventually wear out the frame. Any 12mm washers of that sort of thickness will probably do though. Could try the local hardware shops i suppose
