Help! Need new Controller for colorway ebike

I have an ebike but the controller has failed - the display is S886 - the controller has a model number on it JH34Z3205DZWBT but unable to find a similar controller online. Not with same connector setup anyway.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How do you know hat it's failed?

Because the bike shows no sign of power, display lights, motor, etc. Multimeter on battery showing full voltage. Swapped controller for new one with no result. - only thing left!

Are you saying that you didn't check the motor, the battery connection to the controller and the control panel? Surely, if you swapped the controller for another, which also didn't work, it implies that the problem is not the controller? What was the full voltage of the battery?

BTW, if your control panel doesn't switch on, it indicates that the problem is anything but the controller, since the control panel works independently, and the controller needs it to be switched on to work.

Here's how it works: the battery is connected to the controller, but the controller does not take its power from those wires. Those wires go straight to the motor but are blocked by gates. When powered, the controller opens and closes the gates to let the battery power into the motor. A branch is taken from the battery wires up to the S866 to power it. If there is no voltage in those wires, the S866 will appear to be dead. When the voltage is present, the S866 should switch on. When switched on, the S866 returns the battery voltage to the controller down the blue wire to power it. In other words, all functions of the controller are powered only through a functioning S866.

You therefore need to find out why the S866 Is not working - probably because it has no power. Start by measuring the voltage between the red and black wires in the S866 connector. If there's nothing there, you have either a battery connection issue or a faulty battery.

If you measure battery voltage between those red and black wires and the S866 still doesn't switch on, you can test that the controller works by disconnecting the S866 and bridging the red and blue wires in the connector. You should then get level 1 pedal assistance and functioning throttle if everything else is OK.

I have tried a new S866 with no joy. I will check what you have said. Question - if the motor fails will the S866 not show anything?

If the S866 won't switch on, it's normally because it has no voltage. If it goes faulty, it would still flash or switch on but not work properly.

Motors are very reliable. Even if completely burnt out, you'd still see activity on the S866 since the S866 Is connected directly to the battery. When you measure the voltage on the connector, all will be revealed.
