Need help bike not working :(

No one can tell me if shorting out put on the bottom of the battery with the pins that connect it to the motor and controller will damage these.

I'm not really sure what you mean. If you mean shorting the battery pins (ie the positive and negative) then yes, you will blow a fuse at best.

thats exactly what i mean so that means my bike is done, unless anyone can tell me how to test the components (controller / motor)

If that's what you are doing then you'll blow the fuse . And why would you short the battery anyway ? What does that test other than the fuse

I have to reiterate what has been said already. It's hard to follow What you saying and pictures here would really help.

Folk on here are very very knowledgeable but they need detail

i did short the battery accidentally if you read then all the detail is here you want to see pictures of slightly melted plastic and blackened connectors

Actually it really wasn't that clear. Anyway let's move on and try to get you rolling again.

From the photos you have a major issue where the battery and receiver block meet. They are buggered by my reckoning

The next step will be to test the battery alone. For this you need a fresh fuse and a multimeter

Do you have one of each ?

i do have both of these a cheap very cheap multimeter hmm the fuse in the battery didnt blow and this is the connector socket on the bottom of the battery

If the battery shorted because of wrong polarity when connecting it on the bike then you will have fried/damaged the controller, likely to be capacitor/s popping off.

that is what happened i think wrong polarity positive to negative negative to positive

How can you connect it the wrong way around - surely the connector will only go in one way??

Polarity/connectors may be wired correct however if the battery was on when connected then it may have arced on contact and caused cross polarity. The fuse blew previously so a short/wire fault may have been a primary issue, there could also be a wire short in the docking base if there is a bad connection or corrosion.

Without the bike in front of us we can't say exactly what is broke !!! Ideally you will need to open the controller and battery to have a look, also familiarity with a DVM for voltage checking would help.

I have opened the battery thats where the fuse was that blew. The battery terminals/ connector are completely melted from the arcing. At least one of the blade terminals on the bottom of the batter holder is burnt away .

ok i have the controller of the bike there are a series of short and long traces some of these show damage melted solder and replacing the blade pins is not as easy as i thought it would be they are in a solid block connector. The controller is potted in resin so i cant see the underside of the board

If you connect a battery to the controller with the wrong polarity, it'll blow the main capacitors and the shunt. If the tracks to the shunt are weak, they'll blow before the shunt. You'll need a new controller. The battery is easier because you can remove the piece that holds the contacts and the piece that holds the pins on the bike, then just run the wires straight through to the controller through the holes left by them.

Finally got the controller from Giant only to find it will not work with my bike there is one connector short. This is the one i was told would fit by them i am not happy been waiting nearly a month to get back on my bike
