++I went to the show today with a wallet full of fresh twenties, but I only used one to buy the £15.50 ticket, and came back with the rest.
Most of the electric bikes were all in one area, which was larger than I expected. There were a couple of names that I hadn't seen before, but most bikes were derivatives of the normal stuff. There were two new Bosch motored names: One was Ebco. They had a full suspension version for about £3000. Next was Panther. They were cheaper at £2000 (IIRC), but to me didn't look particularly attractive.

It was nice to meet up with the guys from the trade, some of whom I met before at Presteign.

I had to cringe sometimes as gullible members of the public, who admitted that they knew nothing about electric bikes but had the idea that they wanted one, were asking keen salesmen to help them out. Hopefully they got what they wanted.

Just returned from the NEC,I had to come away a day early but the rest of the Kudos team are still there. Took less than 3hours from Birmingham back to Canterbury,First class trains, snack on board and all foe £60 return...we often complain about our railways but I must say I will use the trains more now that high speed is the norm.
I thought the NEC venue was ideal, but cannot compare with London,as this was my first CycleShow....the weather was kind for outdoor bike testing and I thought the organisers did a fine job of the testing organisation...take your own helmet if worried about using the communial ones provided. Only downside was Wisper had one of their top of range bikes stolen from the track, maybe David can provide further details for us all to look out for it.
I tried as many bikes as possible....I thought the AVE small wheeled bike, crank drive to be very smart and powerful to ride,it was beautifully engineered. I think it was marketed by Ebco. The A2B metro bike was very fast and powerful, could be throttle only, how do they get that amount of power from 250 watts? Tried a Flyer,it was very smooth but not as powerful as I expected as it was designed to go up Swiss Alpine roads, beautifully finished though. Our own King bike was very popular,we had a queue waiting to test, should have had 2 examples to keep up with the test demands, most customers reported it to be very powerful and responsive,it's spec is similar to many others so I cannot understand why it felt quick. Big John rode it for some time together with other Kudos bikes so perhaps he could give an independent report.
Other than punctures I never saw any e-bikes out of action so looks like these bikes are generally very reliable, most of the bikes seemed to go all day without charging.
I enjoyed the venue and will be back next year.
Will try to add some photos.

Thanks Dave as per usual an excellent report...You are obviously a true enthusiast as well as in the business

I see you are beginning to see why Bosch bikes are becoming so popular in Europe, they are simply a great and powerful system...would be near perfect if it was not for the abrupt shut down at 15.5mph

"I thought the AVE small wheeled bike, crank drive to be very smart and powerful to ride,it was beautifully engineered. I think it was marketed by Ebco"

was this the bike? and did it have a price?

But they are illegal in the UK as we dont have an S class bike like in Germany? A few of these appearing in Germany where S class are pretty common but you need a number plate and registration and a helmet...

I would be happy enough with the 250 watt (just got rid of ours) if it did not cut of so abrubtly..BUT happy to put up with that, and looking for a step through model as we really like the system.

I am sure someone will come out with a work around eventually to get a few more mph out of it.....a great system

Hi All,

We’ve just finished unloading the van at our show room in Newcastle after a very busy show.

It was great to see lots of very interested people on both the stand and the demo area. It looked like 80% of the “Road” demo area was filled with e-bikes which is great news.

Ian and I both enjoy going to the shows as it’s a great chance to speak to wide range of people, from people that are new to ebikes, all the way to enthusiasts. It’s also nice for us to catch up with the representatives of other brands such as wisper, ebco, ultramotor etc …
