hi ever since ive had my tdz2 I have had the same annoying problem which is

the display shuts down if not used after 5 minites, and when I ride the bike again it does not always give the correct level of assistance its like being in eco mode and this absolutely kills my legs

normally I have to switch off display wait 10 minites, turn on display then everything works ok, or turn battery on/off on the battery fram,e mount.

my 10ah bottle battery does not seem to give the same range as last year?

so swoped frame mount over to dolpin o9 because I have 13ah and 17ah.

with the 13ah it is not giving me the correct levels of assist (throttle has always worked) had to come home on throttle battery turned on/off did not seem to rectify the problem.

so swopped back to bottle battery it seems slightly better but I was not carrying panniers and locks so still not sure.

I have not altered any cables, dolphin and bottle battery both have same type of connecter and simply changed battery frame mount.

I do not know what to check otherwise ill have a completely usless ebike as I cannot ride it as it is, and range on throttle will be very poor

When the display switches off after 5 mins, that's normally because it goes to sleep when there's no speed signal. Is your speed display working?

.
Problem you describe, low pedal assist after switching on, which catches us all out at times. Is usually caused by not waiting for the torque sensor to recalibrate before pedaling or placing pressure on the pedals, so it wrong sets the zero torque level. Although the display comes on instantly the controller is still going through the calibration process for a few seconds after the display comes on.

speed reading mph ok
what I used to do was go to shops leave display on/ after 5 mins it auto shuts down would turn on display adjust pas level , sometimes it would give correct assist level.

other times It would give problems.

recently I simply switch of battery if I am going to be over 5 minutes

as regards the small delay in sensor recalibrating this has been mentioned before thinking about it I often sit on the bike right foot on pedal, left foot on floor turn on battery or display and move off so maybe foot on pedal while stationary is affecting sensor.

assist level does not feel correct though and do not know what to check next?

thank you

Never put pressure on the pedals before you turn on the screen. I would disconnect both the battery and the sensor; reconnect the sensor, then the battery and turn the screen on; wait for the screen to be steady which only takes a few seconds, then start pedalling.

hi all disconnected all leads and refitted, all seems ok
test ride all is fine.
let the display auto shut off after 5 mins and then power up lcd with me dismounted, then rode bike and have correct level of assistance.

however for some reason my distance covered shows 16.3 miles but I have only done 2 miles and lcd was reset before test run.

tried a few times leaving bike to auto power off , then remounting keeping feet of peddles and all seems fine, assist ok.
last week I did 3 miles , trip meter showed I had travelled 30 miles,
coasting along without turning peddles display reads 62.4 miles throttle does not work. peddling slowly display reads 6.4 throttle ok.

repositioned rear wheel magnet display now reads correctly.
