Just thought some of you might be interested in a project that stalled a year ago when I bought the BH, but have now decided to get my backside into gear and start again with.

A wood fired bread/pizza/slow roast oven.

I constructed the base work aspect of the project pretty much bang on a year ago, and nothing has happened since, until this morning, when I decided to bite the bullet and buy the required materials to build the oven itself.
I also got onto Ebay and bought a cheap pop up gazebo, so that I can try to crack on with it, without too much concern of the work being ruined by adverse weather.

So here it is to date.

I don't like many of the base designs that are out there, and as I'm an oak framer by trade, I decided to come up with my own design.

Initial frame assembly.

Timber lining.

Double layer of suspended steel reinforcing mesh. One covering crack control, and one structural control. Not separated in this photo.

Finished concrete.

And here it is, after I collected the gazebo. I now just need some materials delivered to get started. Sadly this isn't going to be a five minute project, and I'm hoping that by starting a thread for it, I'll stay motivated!
Last year the lure of the BH was too great, but as my enthusiasm for the bike is now zero, my concentration shouldn't wander quite so much.

The top plates will need to be removed at some stage to make the construction easier.

Are you going to make or buy the Oven. Saneagle makes them for a living. Maybe he can let you have one at a trade price.

That's very attractive timber work. You appear to be making an excellent job of the build. I'd love something like that in my garden, but I lack both the time and skills to do it to the standard of yours. Very envious, well done.

I've had my backside in gear over the last week, and whilst the oven and surrounding timber work aren't finished, I do now at least have a working WFO. :)

I cannibalised an old sash clamp to make the setting out gauge. Then hinged it to an old trolley wheel, so that it could rotate 360 degrees, as well as up and down.

Poxy rain.

I also quickly knocked this lot of tools etc up at work today. Having my own dowel/handle maker and bandsaw, certainly makes life easier for stuff such as this.

And a quick fix temporary door.

Joking aside, that's a really nice oven. Saneagle, my neighbour and forum member makes these ones with another guy. They make about three a week:

http://www.blisteringwoodfiredovens.co.uk/

The tel number and address on the website is only a few miles away from me. I never knew that one existed.

....Free delivery by BH Emotion... unfortunately only 5 mile radius of Crowborough!!! ;)
Can I add a get out clause to the above. The 5 mile radius and delivery times are subject to the BH NEO Xtrem even making it that far. At least I won't hungry in the highly likely event of having to push it back.

Well done, that's a great looking oven and an asset to your garden. It's nice to see traditional craftsmanship and skills put to use in this way.

I finished the outer dome off today, and now it's just the easy part of cutting and pitching the roof, and the tiling to complete.

I took it up to 650°c and then measured the outer dome temperature, and there is zero heat loss. :)

I've also already been asked to build another as paid job, but building this has really bored me, so I shan't be building any more.

Throw in a quote for £2,750 and use the money to buy you know what.

Martin, that sounds like a plan. :)

Rob, thankfully now that I have the refund from the BH, I won't need to find that much. ;)

Wow, you are so talented! That is a thing of beauty! It'll be fantastic for parties in the summer!
TK, here is a small selection of other things that I have made, which I suspect that you might like. There are many more.
