Looks a great bike Eddie, beautifully designed. Trouble is that any bike with such a built in battery puts me off, knowing how in the past they've disappeared, making replacement batteries impossible to buy.

If you can afford to buy this £4400 28 mph beasty, I doubt that they will be concerned!lol A lot of bikes going this way with concealed battery's

Betamax!!!!
Maybe.....But not everyone wants a battery like a pile of bricks on the back of our bikes.

more bikes have batteries mounted in the frame triangle these day, this is the next logical step

sounds vaguely familiar......
Just after Sony launched the "better-than-JVC's-VHS" Betamax, Philips came in with their V2000 system which was even better quality yet. Not only that, the cassettes could be turned over like audio cassettes so had double the record/play time. But of course coming last on the scene meant even less chance than the Betamax had, so both failed to penetrate the market.

Well having bought a BH Neo I did think about the issue of replacement batteries and decided id take the risk.

Im not sure its as much of a risk as some seem to think it is. Maybe its just where I live but I have been approached in last six months by at least three people from three different companies telling me that they can re cell the battery on my urban mover as/when it fails.

Now if they can do that for one type i don't see why it should be any different for others. Also its not as if all the bikes with "traditional" batteries are completely interchangeable.

Not interchangeable, but when used on a number of models the chances of getting replacements are greatly improved. Best example is eZee, where they've used the same case and battery mounting for every model for over eight years and through three different battery types, NiMh, Li-ion and Li-polymer.

It remains to be seen if recelling lithium batteries is successful, the record with these companies recelling NiMh is discouraging.

Or a Grundig or Phillips VCC from the 1980's?
