Moveyourlife UMB-3?

Hi all

Two summers ago I rode a Moveyourlife UMB-3 electric bike while on holiday in Sardinia. You can see these bikes here: http://www.moveyourlife.it/gb/12-speed

I enjoyed the ride, but I really have nothing to compare it to. Has anyone on here brought one of these over to the UK?

My major concern is that the batteries are integrated - which I like the aesthetics of - and are manufactures specifically for the company in China...so if the battery fails, is the bike kaput??

I have contacted the company. No further details of the battery yet, but I know that the motor is a Bafang 8fun 250w. They advertise providing a 500w motor as optional, which could be interesting...

In summary - please let me know of your experiences of this company/bike.

It seems very expensive for what it is. For half that price, you can get a bike in the UK with the same electrical stuff and probably a better bike. You should get down to a few electric bike shops to try some. I think that you'll like them more.

No experience of the bike or company, but two things concern me. One you've raised is the restrictive battery housing, possible limiting future battery choice.

The other is that the controller and wiring is directly in the path of spray from the inadequately mudguarded front wheel, very much a hot country leisure design. In the UK that's potentially asking for trouble unless only ridden on completely dry days.

That's very useful feeback, Flecc. Thank you. I did get soaked through one day I was cycling it, and the bikes were stored outside in the rain. Who knows what the longer term effects would be though. With this and d8veh's comment, I think i'll give it a miss and continue looking elsewhere.

Those MoveYourLife bikes look a bit like a sexed up Powabyke.
