Move disc rotor

So, I fitted the new front hub motor wheel to my Carrera intercity disc 8 and swapped over the front disc rotor on to the hub motor wheel. The edge of the hydraulic brakes is rubbing against the spokes. Can I put washers on each of the rotor screws to move the rotor outwards ? Or maybe file down the brake housing ?

id try push it out a few mm with washers b4 u start grinding it

All of the hubs I have bought arrive with a 2- 3mm grey nylon rotor spacer .
Rather then use individual washers Peter make a one piece disc spacer with aligned holes , a bit 2mm Ali sheet will do the job.

That's the one, saves messing about with washers and keeps the rotor evenly supported .

The nylon should be fairly heat proof and not an issue.
One would need to be heavy handed braking with a 20" folding bike.

Nylon melting temp 256 degrees C.

You can get those in 2mm and 1mm too. The Hope ones will be consistently accurate, so maybe a better buy. Plus its produced int he UK by one of the top bike component makers, not 'UK stock' which means China.

The solution we always used to use was to fit a larger disc and get the appropriate caliper adapter. You get that a lot when you have a 160mm disc, so, if that's what you have, go to 180mm.

The spacer provided is not meant for the disc. It's to compensate for the length of the screws when you don't have a disc.

The spacer provided is not meant for the disc. It's to compensate for the length of the screws when you don't have a disc.
That would make it look like it means business a 20" wheel with 180mm caliper. What adapter would I need ?

Post mount to post mount, for 160 old disc, 180mm new disc.

Many suppliers available.

Fiddly to set up because of domed washers to accommodate non parallel surfaces, but you only have to do it once.
Yes, so I think I have flat washer next to the head, then concave facing downward and then convex fitting upwards into the concave

First time with one of these, with it all sliding every which way as I tried to tighten up the bolts, if it hadn't been genuine Shimano I'd have thought only idiots could produce something so awkward!

You have a side mount (IS) 160mm front caliper adapter. You change it to a IS to post mount 180F one.
