What about the drivers that turn their heads sideways to talk to the passenger, sometimes for more than 10 seconds? You can see it when you're following them. They scare me to death. Why do they do it? How long can they survive doing that?

A few years ago a young woman driver of a hatchback was driving along Kent Gate Way near me, with her mother in the front passenger seat and children on the rear seats.

Both the women turned around together attending to the children for a few seconds, presumably causing the young woman driver to pull down a little on the right of the steering wheel. Her car veered across the road, colliding with a Rover coming the other way, killing its woman driver outright.

The whole saga was watched by a lorry driver following the Rover.

Those in the hatchback including the guilty driver escaped almost unhurt, and she was subsequently fined £250.

As it is with most things motoring.. small misdemeanors can attract a large fine but the more serious offences seem to get almost let off with a slap..

I belive in a level playing field, so lets ban pedestrians within 1mtr of a highway having their headphones in or using a mobile phone, you may laugh but I have had near misses a number of times with pedestrians oblivious to what is going on!

Also ban the use of headphones on cyclists, how can they be alert being distracted by music and not hearing what is going on!

In fact lets all buy cotton wool and wrap ourselves and children up because life is so dangerous.

Check this out, who do you blame? at the end of the day concentration is everything and I doubt the car in front that slipped into lane two was, that left the car with the camera firstly wondering what the car in front was doing, and by that time it was too late, smash!! what is more concerning is the van and big load with a high up view not alerting anyone and hogging lane 2!

I have found that if you give a good clearance some clown always fills the gap and reduces your space, very annoying!

Me too, so if cars can't come within 1.5 metres of bikes, bikes should be banned from being within 1.5 metres of cars. That would stop cyclists riding up the nearside of vehicles to commit suicide.
