I think I've overloaded my motor, it's 240 watt at 24 volt, it's on a trike but I wiegh 15 stone, it got a little damp yesterday, but it just won't work under load, I can get it to run, by putting voltage to it, but you have to spin it to start it.

I can just replace the motor, but I have another battery would it be worth going to 36 volt to make the motors life easier, and wheres the best place to get motor and controller in UK,

That's so often the case Bob. There's no one source for motors, the e-bike market being so small. The best way is to buy a suitable hub motor kit to match your trike, having the kit motor built into your wheel. Assuming you have a 24" wheel, a Crystalite motor would have the necessary power, but it might not fit in a 20" wheel, so you'd have to check with the spplier, Team Hybrid.

The Nano is a smaller motor which suits 16" and 20" wheels, and one supplier of these is Electrodrive.

Both of these can be run on various voltages according to the controller chosen, the Nano on 24 or 36 volts, the Crystallite on anything from from 36 to 72 volts.

Best to buy the Nano direct from Tongxin rather than a UK supplier. I was quoted £150 by Mr Motivator - quite a mark up!
