Yes 'ish

Whilst most retailers advertising on the internettywebby accept paypal, wholesalers (who's margins may be tighter) / escrow services (cos theres no charge back risk) like bank transfers

I see they're also pulling the old bank trick of getting use of your money for a couple of days. Aggregating all those flowing customer funds and using it for other things, just like the banks.
Just a new wrinkle on an old game and very nice it is for them, too.

Another free service you can use for transferring payments is the Post Office's International Payment's Service. You can transfer from your credit/debit card to any foreign bank account in any currency you like. They will only transfer payments over $400 USD though. There's no charges at all and the exchange rates are quite competitive.

Healthy scepticism but the Transferwise system does seem to have worked well. The £300 we transferred this morning has already hit our French bank account! and the rate we got yielded 14.5 euro more than the post office international transfer offer (from which deduct £1 for the transaction fee).

I'll remember that in future, as I use the Post Office to do my business transfers..all these costs mount up over the year eh!
