So that's why Santa has his picture on the wall in my local branch of Wonga, with the words, "Employee of the Month" written underneath it. It's Christmas!

Amidst all of the merriment and festive excitement, let us not forget to take a moment to reflect upon and to remember those who will separated from their relatives this Christmas. The lucky b@stards.

A Christmas day tour of a practically deserted Central Milton Keynes, all the shops shut, car parks empty and virtually no traffic...........bliss;)

My Xmas ride ended after 2.3miles. :(

Error 13 reared it's ugly head, and as soon as I saw it I knew that I had made a school boy error by leaving the battery key at home!

It was actually a blessing in disguise, as the weather turned from cloud to near on horizontal rain and hail.
I had intended to ride across Ashdown Forest, and with limited tree cover it wouldn't have been very nice.

After trying the connectors, and the battery after getting back home, the error 13 turned out to be the control console. It hadn't occurred to me to check this to start with as it is not only screwed down, but also has a bead of silicon around it to keep water out. It only took slight pressure to resolve the issue, but still very odd.

I'll try again tomorrow.

Hi I really enjoyed watching that video. Who needs forest dirt trails, that's the kind of riding I enjoy doing. I also added your video to my favourites. Your bike sounded nice and moved very smoothly (I want it ). I will also like to bring me bike up and do that ride, but I suppose I would have to wait for next year again or maybe do it during a night time. Have you ever tried the night ride there yet?
Anyway thanks for sharing it with us.

Hi MS,

Christmas day is the only day of the year when the city centre is so quiet, devoid of both traffic and people.

I am not religious but I sometimes wish we could go back to the days before Sunday trading when we had one day of the week when most shops were closed, then maybe we could have traffic free city centres that were safe places for people to walk and cycle.

I would not normally use some of the roads that I did in the video due to the fast moving traffic, but we are fortunate to have over 170 miles of cycle routes within the city although many are in need of maintenance.

The bike I was riding is a 5 year old eZee Cadence which I bought 2nd hand recently and upgraded, it is the most comfortable bike I have ridden.

I do quite like riding at at night when the weather is good, but the roads are still busy until the wee small hours.

What is that place like when it's NOT Christmas day?
Hi Jim,

I think that I answered that already, but the roads are busy most of the time and today, Boxing day, it will be even busier than normal when the shops open.
