Mum.. look! that man rides an electric bike!
Why want to attract (possibly unflattering) attention?
We have debated this before. Some people feel uncomfortable being seen on an electric bike for a variety of reasons. Others, me included, don't care what other people think, they are missing out because of their ignorance.

Electric bikes are versatile and fill a wide range of needs. I use mine for a 10 mile each way commute. This afternoon I completed a 1 mile swim and have run the 10 miles into work this evening, so they are hardly for invalids or the frail, they just fill a certain need. Be proud and overtly ride your ebike, don't disguise or be ashamed of these great machines.

The battery placement on the Bosch bikes looks great.

Hi Eddie,

I've owned a Scott Sportster P3 with rim brakes for a few of years.

I picked it up for a bargain £350 at the end of season sales.(best time to buy)

I'd thoroughly recommend it as it's a great looking / riding bike and have always thought it would make a lovely stealthy e-bike.

Doesn't get much use now though since I bought the Pro Connect. :)

In reality it's not much different from the Panasonic unit typical mounting as you see below, only the bikes with those disguise it a bit better perhaps:

Some little one's udders sink much lower:

The Proconnect S10's motor has been tummy-tucked, the KTM's sags badly although not as badly as the Cyclone's which look like well..I may get banned from this forum if I said it

I didn't say it! you did! you are a wicked old man!
But seriously, I should go and set up ebike assembly business in Germany. I'd take a road bike, add a conversion kit and roll it in. It's not so much as Vorsprung durch Technik - it's more Deutschland uber alles.
People trust that made in Germany is a guarantee for well build quality but wait, nearly all components are made where?
I don't know if the Bosch drive is better than the Panasonic but because it's German, it costs more. I suspect the dealers know this and exploit it ruthlessly.

How true that is, assemble Chinese parts in Germany and there's immediate added value.

However, there is a benefit for the consumer since the assembly standards that result from the thoroughness of German workers are appreciably higher than their oriental equivalents.

There is such a thing as a high production standard in China, but it results from constant supervision rather than being intrinsic.

Yes, I know. My son worked in Germany for a time. Over there, they have tools for everything. They also have zero tolerance for defects, but it's not universal.
I wonder how much we are prepared to pay for exoticism and for that set of decals on the bike tubes. It's nothing to do with sense, the ebike ceases to be an efficient and politically correct mean of transport and becomes toys for the boys.

Now I'm confused Trex, but that could be down to my other friend Stella:confused:

The Meister Techniker is me or it was 30 years ago in Germany. Our glorius leader, Chief Ezee Power comes from Singapore.

Alles klar mein Schatz?;);)

Kalkhoff does not suit my style - still looking. Cannondale I like but is too expensive for what they are.
I'd like something cheap (may not be the right word), as long as it's 100% reliable.

You could always go for a Cannondale of your choice with an eZee conversion kit Trex;)
