Well I did it first proper go out on my great new Oxegen Emate City with only 3 miles test run last week today as my first chance to take a trial run across to Dudley from home in Kings Norton. Took a chance on cross country route through Frankly but took a wrong turn and ended up adding 5 miles going so total journey was around 35 miles. Total enjoyment ..will post review of bike later when I've recovered ...oh bike empty at she almost made it mainly on assist 5 / 4 and going was in the main uphill , fairly flat coming back via Quinton and Canal.

More later, thanks all for encouragement.

15ah you may get up to 50 miles when ambient temps raise after spring, I find the batteries need a few (3 or 4) cycles (charge/discharge) before full capacity is reached. My Samsung Oxy's did this now I get full 42v - 33.5 charge/discharge cycle. Also using assistance 4 on speed level 1 more often will increase range don't forget as well as the 6 assist levels there are also 3 speed levels as well 1/2/3 or Eco/tour/turbo. The lcd looks exactly the same as the one on my Oxydrive kit.

Hi Neal, something must be different on the kit as opposed this setup as I can only find throttle mode and 5 assist modes, I do imagine that battery will bed in I will get a bit more from it , of course as I get better too the assist can be dropped down and I'll get more distance too.

Well decided to take her out in the wonderful sun yesterday and commute to work, full charge on battery got me there and back comfortably, mostly assist 4 which smoothed hills nicely. Took the 'Red Route' and found one side is for the most part a cycle path anyway, with a newly refurbished section in the works also. This made for a great quick route around 14 miles each way, fairly flat for large stretches too, took around an hour which was my target time so very happy.

As for the bike , impressed, just dies as it should and handles extreamly well, anyone looking for a great value bike should take a good look at this Oxygen e-mate City it really is a nice bike and E-Bikes direct got it too me real quick and all ready to go, save fitting the peddles.

The big battery give great range and the bike is fully kitted out , full throtle on any 2015 stock is nice if your feeling lazy or just want a quick boost.

The motor seems quiet and flattens the slopes well enough, and being a rear hub there's no worries about gears , chain etc , just a natural feel to the ride.

Controls are simple and ergonomic , so adjustments while flying along are easy enough , the display is clear and easy to work out.

My only gripe would be the battery metre on the display, I guess most operate the same, it can be showing 1 bar as you go up hill only to show 4 as you hit the flat, clearly not show actual level of power in battery but the output of the battery ..this dips as the motor hits in at full tilt.

Disconcerting at first but once you've worked it out.

Battery location is stable and keeps weight centred , this is good but to remove if you need means moving the seat which is a little bit annoying, but if you have power where you park your bike it will charge happily while on bike so big issue.

All the kit is top quality only think I have found is no fittings on accessories you buy will fit the frame as its quite substantial in build, so that pump or lock bracket needs some thinking of put in a panier bag.

All in all an amazing bike , bring on the summer .

Took her out in pouring rain yesterday just a quick 5 miles trip 7 back, handles great and loves the wet , surprised brakes fine , tires safe on muddy paths ..

Another 15 miles today .. New pannier bags fitted , filled with shopping , and super lock, all good no problems fully loaded, motor had plenty to give.

Loving this bike

Sounds like a great bike. If you don't mind, could you update us on how many miles you're getting out of it... there's a few of us looking for the 'Holy Grail' of an eBike that's reliable with high mileages!

Well mainly on 4/5 assist in cold weather, battery not upto prime yet as only 2nd charge , plenty of hills and I'm no at all fit .... Got a good 37 miles on first run, 2nd run commute got me 35 still 1 bar .. I ran her down on another 5 mile run no problem.. Now third charge and another 20 miles under her belt, still 3 bars on power up, and half power on battery itself 3 led shows 2,
So looking like easy 35-40 with high assist, summer running with warm weather will only improve this plus as I put more in then should be fine on assist 3 so that should up milage in my hilly area to 50-60 easy.

My mistake Oxygen and Oxydrive are different products so components and settings not be the same.
