I often buy tools at their shops (decent mid-range quality at fair prices) but I've never seen any cycle items in there before.
Time will tell what the quality and after sales support are like ...

They don't say much about power and this scooter needs a lot. Throttle restricted to 4mph? It must be a nightmare to pedal this thing.
I wonder why there is 16+ age restriction. It doesn't make sense.

Those Eskutas are quite good. I've ridden them a few times. They work the same as the MiRider, except they're more powerful, as they have large 48v batteries. The throttle works as a speed controller, and you turn the pedals to enable power. You don't need to provide any pedal effert.

Did you get a good look at the innards? Are the battery packs easily replaceable with two wired ones bought online from elsewhere?

I can see why people would spend so much a Eskuta, which looks like a suitable replacement for a petrol scooter for short journeys... but this dumb folded plastic box looks useless on the cargo version, plus it's too high up for heavy cargo. Miniature grand pianos only.

Yes, just standard Chinese stuff - dead easy to modify and hack. The controller has a few extra connectors for the dashboard and security system. It was 6 years ago that I looked at them. Maybe there are some changes, but I doubt that there's anything prohibitive. If the government allow throttles, these scooters are going to be everywhere. They're really good for generally getting around on apart from the awkward pedalling at the moment.
