Do you not think that the situation may have been different if the driver had been in a Fiat 500? I do.
Yes, I think it probably would, but I couldn't be certain of that.

I just prefer not to prejudge someone on what they drive, simply because there can be sound reasons for their choice which only they can know.

By the same token I am just as critical of drivers who prejudge cyclists, as many of them do.

Such attitudes bode ill for any useful communications. No matter how you feel about these drivers or how much you yell at them, you will never improve the situation.

I guess I don't like it when pre judged by other but like most I do it myself.

Having got somewhat off the track, the real shame is that this incident is undoubtedly not an isolated case. There will be many others that never get seen or reported.

Near misses aside, I wonder what has gone wrong within our society to produce such anger and hostility towards a fellow human being.

I wonder that too and it saddens me. My attitude is to be tolerant of undoubted misbehaviours in the interests of setting a good behaviour example. That doesn't address the misbehaviour, but it might just install tolerance in others at times.

Those of us who are drivers know the classic example of what happens when we courteously let another driver out of a side road to precede us. At the next side road with someone waiting to exit, the driver who we benefitted more often than not does exactly the same, showing how good manners can be catching.
