Hi - first post, so please be gentle!
I work with a disability cycling charity. We have two wheelchair platform trikes, retro fitted with Bafang assist. We use these, together with the rest of our fleet, in a local park.
We try to ensure that users ride slowly, as the paths are shared with pedestrians. But sometimes carers get carried away!
Is it possible to REDUCE the speed at which the assist cuts out? Ideally to 8mph, roughly twice walking pace?

depends what motor and controller you have a mid drive bbs motor has a programming cable so you could lower the amps for less speed.

or use a lower powerd controller that would work with what you have.

We need to see pics of the handle bar display if fitted.

Fair point. We're doing a session on Thursday, so won't be able to get pix till then. But seems in principle it's doable...

Quite often there is an option in the "advanced" or hidden menu to set the max assist speed, sometimes hold down the + and - buttons together

Thanks for that - couldn't see a way to change the speed at which assist cuts out though. Only the ability to subgdivide the assist into, say, three five or seven levels. Unless I read it wrong?

look at that video - start at 1 min 24sec - press + and - together to get into the settings, 1st parameter is units, tap power button, 2nd parameter is max speed assist

edit - were you saying you've done that and there isn't a screen that shows LSPd on the display ? there is a settings menu (hold + and - down together) and an advanced settings menu (+ and - together and tap power button 8 times) - I think it is on the normal settings menu

My bad - senior moment - started viewing at the back light section . That is brilliant - we have a session on Friday, so can test it out then. Hugely appreciated!
