lights powered from ebattery?

Hi,I bought a new ebike kit a few months ago, from https://pedalease.co.uk/ its been working fine, it came with a front light which connects to the controller, this wasnt mentioned in the kit description so it was a nice surprise, i wouldnt say its super bright, just medium, they also have this for sale https://pedalease.co.uk/index.php?rt=product/product&path=68&product_id=13172307

Will connecting a front and rear light cable to the 1 light connector on the controller be ok? i dont want to blow anything,

I would email them ,but they rarely reply....no phone number either

The title says 48v. The description says 36v.

yea i know. i just want to know if its safe to connect both lights to the same controller cable.

Test the output with your multi meter!

If it is a KT or a Bafang controller the output is usually 6v/3W decent lights require more. Mine is connected directly to the battery and will handle 49v despite being rated for 42v and the rear light gets its 6v power supply from the front light.

Maybe l’m a puritan never will I connect auxiliaries to a battery that does power a motor. Strict separation is my view. Volts for distance only.

Depends on the lights of course, but the majority of them draw so little current in relation to the motor itself, any loss of range is pretty insignificant in practice, and for many, the convenience of not needing multiple battery charges is the key factor!

Edit - now just waiting for Soundwave to post a link to a 500 billion lumen light that draws more current than the bike itself
