Right on cue for Hoppy at Lidl next Thursday , 21st March is a Bike Computer for £4.99 . Plenty of other cycling items as well . I use one on the GT `steam` bike and will be buying another for the Batribike E Folder .

Very handy and amazing price....but no good for my bike as they only hold up to 20kgs....but I AM going to get one of those mini pumps to carry around

They do - downwards.

I had one with a light mtb on and found the bike on the floor in the morning - one of the pulleys had sheared in half! Fortunately it didn't hit the Westfield on the way down or there would have been hell to pay at the local lidl store.

No Lynda, as Skiing is orff now , except perhaps in the north of our glorious Land . I really think you ought to get one as you would look terrific in it ! I saw a Lycra rider in one the other day , I thought I was the only one . They are warm and comfortable , but one snag is that they keep sound out and when you stop to receive a mobile call , you have to take it off . As stated before when I went into a petrol station shop , the assistant asked was I paying for petrol . When on my Motorcycle I remove my helmet out of courtesy to pay, but don`t normally with a cycle helmet .

Well... what I'm going to do is raise it a little bit then stick a bag of cement on and leave it over night, if nothings broke in the morning then all is well.

If the supplied screws are a bit pants then they wont be used... I'll hammer some long nails up through the joists and bend them over from upstairs, which will be ok cos the carpet will hide them.

Sorry Roger, there is no way on this earth you could ever persuade me into one of those.....or any helmet for that matter .........but Im sure you look great in yours

The red has 5 Leds and 6 different flashing modes and the front is small and tubelike with 5 Leds and 3 flashing modes . With these going I think you would outflash the Emergency vehicles , the red is really bright and would look great on one of those helmets if you were to buy one Lynda .

You're right Old Dave, I have been using one of these hoists - to lift my Agattu - for several years.
The Agattu weighs about 23Kgs.

I've had the Aldi version for the past nearly two years. It happily takes the weight of mine, complete and in total, it's a heavy bstrd.
Like Old Dave, I hammered some skewers up through the floorboards and managed to impale the cat. Severs it right, for crapping up there.

Just pop a set of earbud headphones in under there with a mic on them. No need to get undressed to take a phone call !

You're a braver man than I. I'd only risk it with about 5 beanbags underneath in case it fell - which kind of defeats the object of hoisting it up in the first place

Are the Poundstretcher ones the same. Or are you just planning to use rechargeable batteries.

I bought a hoist a while back which I was planning to use in the shed. Before I noticed the shed roof was a bit past its best.
