Lexham Cycle Recovery Insurance - Don't get Caught Out

For the sake of a mere £15 a year I have taken out this brilliant value cover for some time now.

On phoning to renew today, I managed to grasp, in the high speed exclusions they have to read out to you over the phone, something about a SPECIFIC bike.

Turns out that after the reader queried this with someone 'in that department', whilst previously there was never any request to give details of a specific bike and you were therefore covered for whatever bike you were riding, all has changed.

Now they charge £15 per year per bike, irrespective of the fact that you can only ride one at once.

I've got access to 4 bikes therefore my premium would increase from £15 a year to £60 a year. Personally I'm not bothering now.

Just thought people should be made aware.

At that price, a taxi home, get car and spanners, drive to bike, remove wheels and bring it home will be far cheaper.
That's what I do (never had to yet, but that is Plan B)

I don’t know why people take out this type of insurance, I think it’s a total waste of money. It’s like taking out insurance in case your shoe comes off.
