Sorry for not replying more quickly.

Dave, they've given me the system they were working on in, It involves some bolt holes which are covered by the rubber pads on the top of the battery. Seems to work ok so far.

The blog linked above has details of where I'll be each day. The actual route is in the hands of Google and Co Pilot.

I'll be finished on Friday.

If anyone wants a fantastic experience on their electric bike, cycle up Shap Fell, just amazing !

Thanks it is a great bike. My only other minor comment is that you can not lock the battery in. You take it off without the need of the key.

Well I did it! As far as I can tell, and unless anyone tells me otherwise, that's the first unsupported solo LEJOG on an electric bike.

So happy, but sad it's all over, it was fantastic. Thanks for all the helpful comments and your interest. I'm convinced electric bikes are the future for travel, and will be promoting them anyway I can.

Xx

Glad you had a good run, Penny _ A real acheivement ☺

On my way home from a day out on the local mountain-bike trails on Wednesday, motoring west on the A30 Bodmin bypass; there was a bloke riding what looked, from behind, like a very short Yak!
Closer inspection as I passed revealed a bike camouflaged under overloaded front & rear panniers, topbox & camping sundries.

Along that 6-mile strech of dual carriageway alone, the gap outside the white line demarking the edge of the highway varies between a couple of feet & b#&&er all.

IMHO _ Suicidal. I passed him at 70mph & both lanes were pretty much full.

And I've just read, on a cycle touring forum, ”We have to use the A30 through Cornwall, as it's the only fast route".

Beggars belief.

Really enjoyed reading your Blog and glad the journey went so well.

LeJog has been on my wish list for a number of years, athough I don't know if I'd have the bottle to go solo like yourself.

Having the bottle to do it solo isn't the problem, having the bottle to do it at all is my problem. ;)
