I have a copy of the nice glossy Kudos brochure and the Ibex is described there as having a thumb throttle.
Better get a good supply of Tippex in to correct remaining brochures.

I still want to give it a go though and looking forward to a test ride later in the year.

Whilst a throttle might be a handy accessory for hill starts etc, for most people they are completely unnecessary on an electric bicycle. Hands probably best left for directional control, feet(and motor) for thrust, IMHO.

Hi Guys....the current situation is that the Cobra,Tornado and Arriba bikes will all have thumb throttles. We are still trying,as was our original intention,to fit a throttle to the Ibex bike but the communications I am receiving from the chinese manufacturer is not positive that a throttle can be included but they are still trying to achieve a throttle.
That was why I made the posting...'throttle looking unlikely'
I will keep everyone informed when a definite decision has been reached.
My problem is that the prime market for the Ibex bike is Germany and that country has specifically banned throttles.

Great news that you're still trying to get a throttle on the Ibex.Surely throttles are still ok even in Germany if the pedals are just turning forwards? That would be a good second-best option for some of us.

I like to use the throttle for a while when my legs get a bit tired, and using a throttle keeps your feet free either side for kicking at chasing dogs while maintaining forward momentum.......

Careful! You'll have the RSPCA and the Canine Defence League campaigning against throttles! ;)

Purely in the mutt's best interests, of course - One has to try to fend off the b@$?@#d in case it gets its head wedged between front wheel & cranks.
