I am modifying my bike to have a second battery in parallel, the lead will terminate with an Anderson connector. This will allow me to add a short lead with an anderson to battery connector, that way in theory I will be able to use batteries from any supplier.

The most reasonable battery I can find is from Kudos, they say on their website that they are happy to sell batteries to non Kudos customers. I have not however been able to find out about the battery socket, they say that its two pin and they do not sell the plugs, nothing more.

Does any-one know what plugs the Kudos batteries use and where I might be able to get one?

Hope this helps

7cfm Please find photos of the 36v x 10Ah LiFePo4 battery as fitted to Kudos Tourer bike. Also mating controller housing, the controller housing is not normally a service item but we realise how useful the male plugs would be to install the battery. Battery price £208.80 controller housing price £19.60 including vat. Hope this helps.

Yes many thanks that's great. I'll get the controller housing first as I am still in the experimental stage and want to be sure it will work before splashing out on a new battery. As its not listed on website I'll ring tomorrow, is there a part number or anything I will need to quote?

That's a good price. What sort of battery is it ?

Just checked your site LiFePO4 and re-read your post

Excellent value!

PS and chargers at £19.58 :)

If you want to use Andersons, remove the black end-cap from the battery, unsolder the wires from the connectors on the inside, remove the little plate that holds the connectors and run the wires out through the holes where the connectors used to be. Then add some sealant so that water doesn't come in and solder on your Andersons. Job done!

7CFm....ask for Scott at KudosCycles, there is no part number on this part but as a result of your enquiry am getting it loaded on the computer but Scott knows about the order and will arrange despatch
If all works out could you report on your setup on this forum because others have asked to mount 2 batteries on their bikes.

Dave, Thanks for your help with this and yes I'll report back, it'll probably be in about 3 to 4 weeks

A progress update, I have got the connector and will order the battery later in the week, hopefully I should have the finished article by the weekend. I still need a battery bag for the rear rack, can you let me know the dimensions of the battery? Thanks

I have now finished adding the second battery to my bike, electric transport shop in Cambridge did the mod for me while my bike was in for a service.

I supplied the parts, the total cost of the project was £365 as follows

10Ah battery and 2 chargers from Kudoscycles.com £255.16
Controller case with battery connector from Kudoscycles.com £19.60
Ezee Battery bag from Cyclezee.com £19.76
Y Splitter cable from ebikes.ca £22.70 ($35)
2 Schottky Diodes from pingbattery.com £17.57 ($27)
Labour charge from electricbikesales.co.uk £30

The hardest things to source were:-

The diodes (ebikes.ca no longer do them and re-voltage.eu are in the process of making up a new batch). The ones from ping are really nice and encased in a plastic box. They are not listed on the website as they only normally supply them to battery customers.

A suitable battery bag for the battery, the Ezee one would not accommodate the battery + controller box. Ideally I would have liked a Kudosbattery rack as they are purpose built for their batteries but these are currently out of stock with an expected lead time of 6 to 8 weeks

I now have a 10 Ah battery behind the seat and a 10 Ah battery on the rear rack wired in parallel so I should have now have a range of at least 30 miles
