KU65 and PAS

Is it me, or is the KU65 a bit rubbish with a pedal sensor?

I've just thrown together a new bike for testing (it will become my 'chuck it in the van' bike, more on that later...), and I was hoping to do without a throttle. The PAS seems to cut out at a very low speed (perhaps 12mph) even when I'm in level 3 assist.

Maybe I've done something wrong. I'm running it sensorless, and I have disconnected the limit wire (temporary measure to see if that was the problem of course :) )

All opinions welcome!

I have this controller and I did not like the pas so I disconnected it. Nothing to do with this controller I just prefer to chose how much assistance I want via the throttle - it's far more immediate and infinitely incrementally variable

Must admit I didn't notice such an extreme difference between pas and throttle - 1mph max but it was a little slower for sure

I do run it at 48v - maybe this makes a difference

Mine works just fine, I get 17 to 18mph at 36v on level 3, (20 22mph on 50v)
Level 1 8mph, level 2 12mph on 36v.

Level 1 8mph, level 2 12mph on 36v.

That's sort of what I was expecting, but I can't really tell the difference between 1/2/3, so I'm wondering if my assist wire is not making a connection. Will have to investigate...

The green wire from the panel carries the PAS speed signal to the controller. It should be 1V level 1, 2v level 2, and 3v level 3. Check it with a voltmeter.

Normally the Pas works well on the KU65 with three distinct levels.

Well, I checked it, and I'm getting 3v back from the display to the controller, so that's all good. Must be a f-knackered controller.

Seme here. I have two bikes running ku65 + pas without problems. The power of 1,2 and 3 levels is quite different
