Well, bought me one, cause thought can replace the simple thumb throttle (picture from the ReaseJoy conversion kit).

Now, the controller has different cable colour, so it looks alike it doesn't fit without any splicing.

Different colour wires just means you have to connect the right ones together if you know which ones are GND, 5v and signal. For help you need to show some pics.
But also 2 or 3 times it has been said that compatibility is an issue, the programming protocols will be different.

If you don't have a KT controller, I doubt that it will work.

For reference:
Red is from battery positive (36v)
Blue is switched battery voltage to power the controller
Black is ground
Yellow is tx or rx data
White is rx or tx data

If you connect the red and black, it'll switch on and show the correct battery voltage. You can turn the pedal assist up and down, but nothing will happen if it can't transmit or receive data from the controller. It won't show the speed either because it gets that as data from the controller.

This was my thought as well, so I have ordered me a KT controller, installed it, was some cable fiddling still, and now everything fits and works perfect, it is a good digital invention.

Finally, I compared the cables from the ReaseJoy controller, and what I realized is, that the controller would have fit as well the KT panel, but the ReaseJoy controller doesn't have the recuperation mode, so I was gone for the recuperation controller, and my first impression of this recuperation feature is a positve surprise, a surplus of power and distance, therefore I can recommend that controller.

I even managed it to adjust my old PAS to the KT controller, just loose the pins and connect black to black, the other two cables, just give it a try, it will work latest with the second round.

Have fun.

So are you saying the reasejoy kit will work with the lcd3 display as I'm really tempted to get the reasejoy after reading reviews on Amazon.
Yes, I got it to work, but you need some skills in cable splicing and eventually soldering, as well it is good to buy the controller from KT as well, cause it does have the regenerative function included, which the ReaseJoy controler won't do.

Thanks for replying. What exactly does the regenerative function do? Is the reasejoy still a good kit to purchase?

The kit is still good to buy, but it will give you pain in your basic joint of your thumb, cause it has only a thumb throttle.

The regenerative function is when you go downhill, then you will be able to use the electromotor for breaking, if the function is activated, then it will charge your battery, by that the battery capacity will last longer for a bigger distance, roughly I do have the experience of 10 to 20% more kilometres.
