That's a KT controller with LCD4. There are several settings in the LCD for how the throttle and pedal sensor work. You should go through all the P and C parameters to make sure that they're how you want them to function. Here's the manual:

If there's something you don't understand, ask and post your setting values. You don't have to worry about anything that is not specifically for the pedal assist setting, though make sure it's set to "torque simulation" mode.

Thank you for your reply. I have checked the manual but I still failed to activate the PAS. Frankly, I don't quite understand what I should do. To give you an idea, the default values are as follows:

Have you tried setting P3 = 0 and C1 = 0. Or you could try peddling backwards to see if pas kicks in. If that doesn’t work you will need to look at how you have installed the pas to see if you have installed it correctly.

I did the p3 and c1 values as you said, but again the pass did not activate. I also checked that the pas inserted correctly.

Then you need to check to make sure the pas is giving the correct output signals to the controller using a multimeter.

When you slowly turn the pedals the pas output should pulse between 0 and 5 volts every time a magnet passes the sensor.

If the magnets are too far away from the sensor then the magnetic field isn’t strong enough to trigger the sensor.

The magnet disc needs to be very close to the sensor. And also the correct way around.

Can you post a photograph of the pas sensor and magnet disc?

That's a simple one , your PAS gap is far to a large. The magnets need to be within < 1mm of the sensor head, then one should see the LED blink on/off.
I would try using C1/02 but often those 12 pole discs don't work to well sometimes, your sensor looks like the more basic DL series and one should use C1 /00 - 02.
If the disc works by backward pedal then one has to reverse the disc face.
Typically 5, 8 or 10 poles work much better.

I am enclosing the photograph of the pas sensor and magnet disc.
Those sensors are handed. They only work on one side of the bike. You should take it off and check which way it works: There are two possible directions of rotation and two different sides of the bike. Only one of the four combinations works.

Did you check whether it works when you pedal backwards?

P2=0 is correct if you don't have a speed sensor. Speed will go to zero when you freewheel.
C1=0 is incorrect. That's for a 5 magnet sensor. You have 12, so 2 or 7 would be correct.

Did the pedal sensor come with the controller and LCD or did you buy it separately because there are many compatibility issues with the 12 magnet sensors. I ask because I see the sensor on your bike is different to the one in the picture of the kit.

C7 is cruise setting , must be a typo for C1.

Typically for DL PAS one uses C1/00 for 5 poles , 01 for 8 poles, 02 for 10 poles and 03 for 12 poles if it works.

As Nealh said, the problem was caused by the distance between the magnet and the sensor. I narrowed the distance and the problem was solved.

Did you have to change the C1 parameter value at all or did it work with the 07 value ?

Great to see the problem is solved. I find it quite disappointing sometimes when folk ask questions and then don't supply feedback. Excellent thread with a good result all round.
