Kids on E-bikes

There are kids versions of off road motorbikes too, and kids quad bikes. I doubt if they are legal but it doesn’t stop parents from buying them and allowing them to ride around on them. Sometimes to the annoyance of the neighbours.

A couple of years ago someone was prosecuted when he allowed his pre teenage son to ride his Christmas gift quad bike behind his car on a road in the dark, and the kid was killed when he pulled out and was hit by an oncoming car. The quad bike wasn’t even fitted with lights.

I am sure you have to be over fourteen years of age to ride an e-bike in the UK.
Exactly, only in the nanny state UK is there this silly age restriction, it doesn't exist anywhere else in the EU, and of course Haibike are a German company selling worldwide.

So for every UK kid denied the possibility of this pleasure, there are seven kids in the mainland EU who might be lucky enough to get one.
