A nice engine shaped box for the battery would have confused the masses. Why, oh why when you have all that space would you want to put the battery up so high? 1.5 kW means quite a few kilos of cells. So down low in a discreet box and use the false tank for storage - rain gear etc.
Practically you are quite right, but the look would be ruined imhoThe link...

And an enormously long wheelbase, meaning very slow steering. The Honda actually has a better looking frame. And front and rear suspension.
Yes, no problem on the open road. Not so good in town though, when weaving about in traffic and sharp responses are wanted. Not such a problem on a 50cc machine which must struggle to reach 75 km/h downhill with a following gale. Would work for a 2 kW electric conversion limited (by law) to 45 km/h too I guess.
I'd go for an Aussie Postie bike with a larger (& faster) 110cc engine and capable of travelling round the worldThe Honda Solo has the incredibly successful and bullet proof 50cc Cub engine so about 35mph top speed.
It came in a huge range of pick and mix colour schemes to appeal to young riders.
Good for 130mpg and half the price of the MeIjs. I know what I'd rather own.
