Onbike is a dedicated e-bike seller and around as long as the e-bike scene has happened, very knowledeable They came out of the partnership with the guys at Presteigne.
Unfortunately the Tour de Presteigne was a wonderful event in one of the most inacessible places in England. I was fortunate to attend one of the last Tour de Presteigne,it was very early days for Kudos.
Attended by Storck, Ebco,Haibike,Kudos,Wisper,others?...the jazz band in the local pub was good fun, quite a community spirit amongst us all.
I think there are normal bike sellers who also sell electric bikes, stocking very little and really not being particularly knowledgeable about e-bikes,relying on a strong website to attract sales.
Therein lies the difference

Well theres a shock
I was after a KTM and he was my closest
Too say that there useless is an understatement
There information skills are zero and there communications rate the same it was just like they didnt care or want too even sell a bike ,
So i travelled further too Onbike in Worcester and couldnt have had better coms and service , really happy allround .
I'm actually a bit disappointed about the above.

I've not had anything to do with the company, but because of their internet and YouTube presence, I've privately recommend several potential sales in their direction. I don't like giving people a bum steer. :(

From what I understand reading at pedelecforum.de using google translate. There is LOTS of trouble with the impulse motor. And the new evo motor have the same weakness. The bosch motor is what I personally would choose. The Bosch CX is the strongest motor right now
Can you share the link with the problems on the evo motor?

I had a look through the Bosch forum and there are many more complaints about those than impulse.

The way I see it, KTM has a couple of improved items on the bikes that go 45km/h but in my view not significantly different than the normal pedelecs. The brake levers are to conform with legislation not an improved protection for the biker with say larger discs or stiffer frame etc.

There are differences in have to admit, Haibike doesn't seem to have them though which makes me think to what degree this is marketing or necessity.

On a trekking bike like I use , these bikes are heavy to begin with and quite hard to pedal to 30-35km/h anyway so I don't see the need for the 'S' as they are meant for casual riding and the exercise comes from the length of time used (which is why I got one)

No worries at all mate :)

Can you remember which forum on the German site you were searching?

I've looked through pages of the Derby section but not found many problems.

In comparison there seem to be many more in the Bosch forum.

I think its fairly safe to say that ensuring the bike can be legally used and conforms with all legislation is an important part of protecting the rider and other road uses.

Damian Harris, probably sells more eBikes than most of the specialist eBike retailers put together... The store is crazy busy, and they sell Cube, HaiBike, KTM, Scott and I think a few other decent brands of eBikes.

Next time I'm down there I'll pass on the feedback that they are loosing sales because they are not getting back to people, but if I'm honest I suspect they will know this.

But it clearly disappoints me that their actions lost us a KTM customer.

My point is that legislation is not always following common sense. If you use a car analogy, manufactures use a lot more upgrades on high powered sports cars than their lower powered equivalent models. Brakes, stiffer chassis, stiffer suspension, etc

The only thing is the front suspension that ktm does.

I have the pleasure of owning a 2015 Haibike Sduro Trekking, powered by the Yamaha PW series center drive, currently 600 miles on the clock. So far the drive has proved to be very powerful when needed, but totally reliable as one would expect from a Japanese product. Although a bit harsh when new, the motor can now barely be heard above the wind noise. I am confident the Yamaha will match the reliability and longevity of the 26v Panasonic unit fitted to my 2010 Kalkhoff Sahel Pro Disc, the latter still capable of twenty-five mile rides at medium assist on its original 10ah battery.
Just bought the 2016 Haibike Sduro Trekking with the idea of doing some touring in Europe and the 2 x 10 gearing will help to extend the range. I also have 2 BH Emotion bikes, 26V and 36v, so also hoping for the same reliability and longevity.
