problem is the 500w batt is only on the more expensive bikes.

id rather have 2 400w batts as then double the range ;)

Good point ... You can get the newer ones for less than 2.5 k from Europe, still bloody expensive though!

I still like the Kalkhoffs though and for the sake money would get one of the newer ones :)

Thing is for me it's a commuter, would love a full suspension mtb as well though!

Just think the whole ebike thing is so cool, yes I can do 100 miles on my road bike.... But... ;)

Anyone in Australia do not buy a Kalkhoff bike, you will be sadly disappointed. These bikes for one are designed for European market not Australia which enforces a bike limiter to max of 25kmh. This is very slow for a bike! Most importantly and this comes from experience and has been the case by many other unfortunate buyers of Kalkhoff bikes the engines develop a duck noise making it very embarrassing to ride and start to lose power - see other posts about this http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/clacking-noise-kalkhoff-impulse-2-motor.22024/page-23
Buyer be ware! Don't waste your money like I did.
