Hi, I have purchased a second hand Kalkhoff Agattu Impulse which worked great for first few rides then I switched it on and it drove off on its own and crashed into a post. When I put it into one of the drive settings it drives itself without pedalling. The only way I can stop this happening us for me to turn off the drive altogether. Can anyone help me please?

Just a guess and I’m sure someone who knows more will be here soon. But is it driving off fairly slowly as though the walk assist button is activating without being pressed?

you should take it to a 50Cycles shop and let them take a look.
The torque sensor inside the motor may have been damaged.

Put in the classified section. I think there's quite a few people interested in a kalkhoff that can do 20 mph without pedalling.

50 Cycles main showroom is in Loughborough. Still a way from you but not as far as Bristol. I can’t see it being diagnosed from a distance. It must have bad problems and would need to be fixed by someone who knows what they’re doing.

I agree with Trex and John Cade. The technical expertise at the Loughborough branch is excellent so that should be the first port of call. A phone call to Matt Goodes should start the ball rolling but it may well be the case that you need to deliver the bike to them.

Loughborough is about 150 miles from Middlesbrough so it could be cheaper to courier the bike there and back than to drive there and back twice unless you're lucky enough to have the fault repaired on the same day.

Perhaps the previous owner has the answer?
