And of course if I don't like a member's post, I have the option of not reading it :)
Very true and well put. What I don't like is a dealer (I am talking generally here, not just one) deciding what I can and can't read. I'd like to make that decision. Threads being removed because they don't fit an individuals particular commercial agenda doesn't do this site any favours. Pedelecs is worse for it.

I'm wholeheartedly in agreement with you on this, Rustic. I very rarely look in here now, for a few reasons. The gross commercialisation, with the associated childish bickering between supposedly adult UK ebike dealers is one reason, the equally childish behaviour of those who sit in glass houses chucking rocks about supposed legality (or otherwise) of various ebikes is another reason.

I hang out on the Endless Sphere most of the time now, as it's completely free of commercialisation, and also free from the petty bickering that seems to be prevalent here some of the time, and consequently it has a very much better range of information (and it also tends to be a heck of a lot more accurate than some of the stuff on here, I regret to say.......).

As a final point, some UK dealers here might want to take note that the behaviour of some of them on here, particularly when they stoop to bickering and giving incorrect technical information, spreads far further than this forum. There are plenty of people who read this forum but never post, but do then go on to other forums and discuss what they've read here, and it's rarely very complimentary, I'm afraid. The antics here do get talked about elsewhere, and I regret to say the comments made rarely seem to be that complimentary.

Agree entirely. Come on you trade members, start giving something back to the Pedelecs community....get behind the Kudos guys and help develope the Redbridge event into the new "Tour de Redbridge" :D
Personally Bob, I dont think they should 'start' giving.... I think the traders in general already give an awful lot to the pedelecs community.

Although more traders should be at the event, and as far as I know only John has agreed so far, I bet more will eventually attend.....they would be mad not to.

Lets not forget the sterling work that Alistair put into the Bristol event last June as well,
it was well attended by traders, we all had a great day and Im sure the same will happen with Redbridge nearer the time.

But lets face it, its us ordinary members who also need to attend to make it into the new T de P

It certainly sounds like a great venue and also Dave is taking it further north too, Im sure he will get the support needed to give us all a great excuse for some e-biking 'jolly's'....personally I cant wait !

I don't know why the thread couldn't just be locked from further posts, and a note from the moderator with a quick explanation of why it has been done.
Continuity, openness, honesty- just 3 things that are missing from how it has been done. This way adds to rumours, looks dodgy, and makes people lose trust.

You don't have any trade identification on your posts and don't sell in here, so how would they know?

I doubt selling one out-of-line bike would affect your entry, just so long as the entries to the event were road legal ones.

I agree that a reason for deletion would be helpful - reassurance that it was with the agreement of both parties would be good.

Whilst I am only an occasional contributor, I personally don't mind commercial posts. For the most part, these are relatively small businesses, which I quite like to support - they're not the likes of Nike and McDonalds. Sure, I've seen one or two minor spats between competititors here, but in the main I see a lot of civil co-operation, here and off the board - and most of them realise their shared responsibility to promote e-biking in general, and to offer the best advice possible.

I removed the thread to an administrator area while I deal with things within it that I have been contacted about.

It will be edited to remove superfluous posts leaving just the facts and conclusion. It will also be locked.
