Have ordered the 5800ma ones from Hobbyking Germany cos after testing and seeing what range they give, I intend (cough) to put another 2 in parallel to give 11.6a .. which should be about right :p

Still thinking of a cunning plan for the 44 lvc

Thanks for the links but I already have a cheapo watt meter and lcd volt displays from a previous life, lol

The cunning plan involves either adjusting the controler lvc upwards or maybe fudging something up with zeners, but no panic as it will be a while before every thing arrives

Updates...

BMS kit with 20" wheel arrived yesterday
BMS lifepo4 battery (for bike no1 came today)
Hobby King lipo batteries ( 2nd pair of 6 cell 5800ma from uk warehouse for build no2 coming tomorrow)

I think I have just about everything, so will start on build 2 next week.

Just for a laugh.. tried bike 1 that has the gng 36v mid drive kit this morning with 12 cell lipo, hmmmmmmm it was 'different' (nice one d8veh)

And finally.. a big round of applause to bmsbattery for many reasons including creativity ;)

I just spotted this intriguing build on endless-sphere while researching freewheels and gearing..

The guy used a motor from HobbyKing and even built the freewheel himself (laser cut then drilled out the teeth himself)!

Look at the low-weight (665g) of this $69 69amp 37v 235RM motor from HobbyKing, would it be any good?

I'll pass on that.. lol
That the Howard Hughes MkII init? :D Not the prettiest bike but you have to admire the engineering and work he's put into it.. why not just fit a hub motor tho eh.

In my live I've seen many fine examples of 'engineering' that I've been in awe of... but that scruffy lump of pooh aint one of them :D

Dogs dinner springs to mind..

It's got rough edges, and it's not the way I'd do it, but at least he did it.
Have you made one from scratch?

12S lipos will bring any boring bike to life and make it a bit more like it should have been in the first place. Not that yours is boring. I find that a 48v battery gives a bit too much speed, but 44v is just about right.

I can just image you pedalling like a demented whirlygig trying to keep up with it .

Hi Scimitar

If you don't like my comments on this matter, then I do of course apologise for offending your sensitivities.... But why you felt the need to stick your 2 euros in is a bit of a puzzle.... I normally refuse to enter into a battle of wits with an unarmed man so will do you a favour and ignore any more of your snidely remarks
