Just got my bike

Hi everyone. I've been reading the forums for a few weeks in the hope of picking up some tips on buying an electric bike. When we were in Germany in the summer the guy who was camping next to us was showing us their electric bikes which he said cost them 3000 euro each. Not being able to spend that kind of money I turned to the Pedelecs forum to see what was available at a more reasonable price.
Fast forward to today and I've just taken delivery of a Juicy Classic bike - new to me, not new. Picked it up for a reasonable price and after a couple of hours of tinkering it should be good to go.
After taking a test ride at a local dealers I realised that a ten minute ride isn't enough to decide if e-biking is for me. Hopefully, I'll take to it otherwise I think I've got an ok bike at a fairly good price that could be sold on if necessary. And maybe in the future I could go for something newer.
I'll let you know how I go on....

That's a solid older bike choice in terms of tried and trusted electrics and seller

Much will depend on the quality of the battery you have.


Once you have had a good few rides, I'd be keen know the mileage( though I'll also ask weightb and terrain!)

I mention this as there can be a huge difference in speed/torque/distance and experience between a weak battery and good one- on the same bike

Only just noticed your post BBS. I too have a Juicy Classic, bought new just before you got yours.
I love mine! Do let us know how you get on with the bike and good luck with it.

The Juicy bike has gone to live in a new home - it's a long story......
and I've now bought an Ansmann FC1 Plus. Rather unconventionally it was my hubby who went along to Cyclezee to take a look at them and have a test-ride (he passes that way weekly with work).
The next week he picked it up and I've been out twice on it, first time for a ride around a local beauty spot and at the weekend I rode into town to do some shopping.
I managed to pick up some panniers from the 'sad section' at Halfords and along with a new bike lock I'm good to go.
We live on a steep hill and I wasn't convinced that the bike would get me up it but tried it on Saturday and me, the bike and two panniers of shopping made it to the gate with some effort, although never having been able to cycle up the bank before I'm really quite happy.
I'll keep you updated with my adventures
