Hi this is my first post so hello and my first electric bike
I bought off eBay a 20" folding e~wayfarer with a rear hub motor and a 36v battery it is a non runner and had been left out in the rain a long time rusty and green @ 56 quid it's worth fixing up I have a hope to commute on it this summer
Anyway I have stripped it down and got all of the electrics on the bench to see what's wrong. I think I have a damaged pas controller? The bit that is clipped to the handlebars
Power 40v seems to be getting up to it and to the micro switch that sits below the battery indicator but no further it's dead along with every thing else there is no 5v out to the Hall effect or the twist grip and certainly no ziggys to the motor
Coupled to that when I took it apart it was pretty green in side the pas thingy, the motor controller is potted with clear silicon but the handlebar unit was un protected.
I recon it's enough evidence to invest in a spare part but I don't want to keep buying bits willy~nilly I can't find one on eBay so has anyone on here got an idea where I can get some bits
Photo is of the controllers both pas and motor all help great fully accepted including telling me what pas stands for
Thanks nick

The part you are calling 'pas controller' is more correctly termed the display. It has little intelligence, and is often an optional component.

If it's knackered, most controllers will work without it, although you may have to short out some pins.

PAS = Pedal Assist System.

I have bought a couple of these type projects and in all of them I have replaced the controller, twist grip, PAS and display and wiring.
The item of the battery is normally on hold until you get the bike running.
Then you can see if it is any good?
Hope this helps?

If it's been left out for a long time in the rain then for < £100 get a complete new wiring/controller /lcd kit, I see Panda sell a nice kit with all water proof connections/ modular plug and play wiring.
