Clarkson at his best. I like the line about how you have to keep their hair trimmed otherwise it clogs with all the ** that comes out of their mouths.

I suppose the BBC are in the rights to sack someone for fighting at work.
The bit I don't get is why we all are punished by not being allowed to watch the last episodes! Is it somehow our fault?

Like the ‘tropical island.’ It looks like Studland Bay with a couple of potted palm trees behind the dunes. Great stuff.
The situation gets more serious, the BBC have now postponed the reminder of this series. It seems likely it arose from Clarkson punching the producer, clearly a completely inexcusable action which if it happened demands tough action.
I think they should urgently seek a temporary replacement to keep this series going, if only to indicate that no-one is irreplaceable.

It seems that he didn't actually punch anyone. Be careful about jumping to conclusions. Clarkson may be a lot of things, but I can't see him as the type of guy that would take a swing at someone. Everything that he does is a bit tongue in cheek. I expect this episode is more of the same, and blown up out of proportion and out of context.
I'm less convinced by that. Why ? Well not showing the remaining episodes hurts only fans
Why punish them ?
If they really wanted too punish Clarkson then sack him
It is quite possible a bbc producer just threw all his toys out the pram
And didn't think consequences through

The latest news that I posted above indicates differently.
At first postponed, the next two episodes are now cancelled according to the news I heard at 4pm. These shows take a lot of planning and are made well in advance, so Clarkson will already be in the Sunday episode.
Postponed meant it's possible he would reappear, but cancelling, which is costly, is a stronger indication that he will not reappear.

According to most reports it was fat boy who spat his dummy out of the pram. He allegedly punched a 36 year old producer because there was no food laid on after shooting finished for the day. His hamster like mini me sidekick tacitly confirmed that today.
My bet is the bloke he hit is a lot smaller than him.
Walloping a colleague opens up a very large can of worms from the employer's point of view.
In smaller organisations, incidents like this can sometimes be dealt with informally by a manager getting the two protagonists together and brokering a 'shake hands' agreement.
Much more difficult in larger organisations with HR departments, and line managers who have little real power in these situations.
I suspect the BBC will be fearful of this finishing in some form of tribunal.
If so, they have acted wisely.

Whatever his action, he's a wealthy presenter. His creating such a situation in a world full of restaurants just because a meal wasn't laid on after filming is ridiculous. It indicates a man who has outgrown his boots far beyond acceptability.
I've never been bothered about him being in this show since it doesn't interest me, but I see no reason why the BBC should be criticised for taking prompt action against unacceptable behaviour.

Clarkson isn’t actually employed by the Beeb though. He pitched the show fifteen years ago and they used the old then defunct Top Gear title. He then cashed out a few years ago when the BBC bought out his rights. He is said to have made over thirty million quid from his involvement over the years.
Which is nice. As they used to say on The Fast Show.
That was my understanding.
Yet the BBC statement says they have suspended him, so they must be able to do it, whatever his contract/employment status.
The walloped colleague (if there is one and he is employed by the BBC) will have recourse against the BBC.
Failing to ensure his safety at work immediately springs to mind, but there could be other avenues to pursue.
