Nealh was saying the Samsung 26F cells may only last a couple of years but you would be saving £350 - split transport costs of the other bike. All there other Dutch inspired bikes on the 241 are very heavy 29.6kg using lifepo4 . Verona maybe

Yes Scott I like the Verona/Milano but I don't think they are on that deal, I think it's the Liberty/Safari which, as you say, are quite heavy.

The Sonata battery is 10.4ah so will have 40 cells inside with 10 x 4 parallel groups to get 36v, the 4 cells in parallel give the ah of the battery so each cell is 2.6ah.
Samsung make the 2.6ah cell in a few versions 26F, 26H & 26J, there is little to choose between them and are much a like. My 26F was 13ah and lasted about 20 months before I saw capacity loss/range reducing for my use, 17a max current draw and up to 24mph. From new 45miles after 20 months about 30- 35 miles. The battery was used for best part of another year before I decided range was enough for me so the battery cells was broken up and I mad some 12v booster packs for my 36v batteries for 48v use.
2 years may possibly be the max the battery will give 95/100% range/mileage before you see decrease happening /capacity loss, it may be less with hilly Brighton.

I know you are looking for a stepthrough, but just look at the quality and spec of this FreeGo Eagle compared to the Pulse:

Decathlon Coventry sell the B-Twin Elops step over, the 24v 500E model is six hundred and fifty while the more powerful 36v 900E model is a grand. Having ridden a 24v hub motor the lower power version is suited for fairly flat areas, it won't be powerful enough for proper hill climbing for which a 36v Motor would be better, but you can get up to 15mph on level ground with 24v.

Hi all. Where to start? Well, firstly a very big thank you to all of those who have helped me in my search. Eagle and Nealh, you two have been particular superstars but everyone who has replied has really helped me narrow down my choice and help me find exactly what I want.

Well, I think I have it. I have managed to pick up a 2nd hand electric bike on ebay. It's a juicy bike and they seem to have good reviews. https://www.juicybike.co.uk/electric-bikes/classic-click-dutch-style-electric-bicycle.
The seller had only tried it once after he purchased it and decided it wasn't for him. So I managed to secure it for just over £700 and it has an upgraded battery too.

I've just collected it today. A bit of a mission as we had to collect it, so I've not tried it yet but it looks immaculate. I will let you know.
